A volcanic ridge formed eons ago winds downward from the upper reaches of George Vineyard and ends abruptly near the massive base of our Sentinel Oak. The Sentinel rises with gnarled lumbering branches as an immovable fixture against the passing sky. Years pass like days under its steady watch.

The grapes composing ‘The Sentinel on the Ridge’ grow in the volcanic-stone-filled vineyard block where its namesake lives. Specific vines within ‘The Sentinel on the Ridge’ block are hand-chosen during the growing season and harvest and are carefully aged and blended.

The result is a dense, ruby-purple color with mind-blowing purity and richness intertwined with a resolute, yet elegant structure. New oak and spice-box characteristics give way to overflowing silky tones of wild strawberry and blackberry.
